Typography

Since I entered into the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, I was also able to be selected for a portfolio review by an Adobe mentor. I was luckily chosen for a portfolio review by Pavel Pisklakov, who is a communications designer and Senior lecturer at South Ural State University in Russia. One of Pavel Pisklakov focuses is on typography. I received his feedback about a week ago, and he said that over all my designs were well executed. He did say though that I need to take more risks on deciding what I am designing for, because my choices are too mainstream and don't stand out as much as what they could. He also said that I could benefit from understanding typography and how to maximize its impact. He suggested that I watch Ilene Strizver's presentations on typography. I did a little bit of searching and found a free presentation of hers that I watched and thought I would share it.
